View Full Version : Is it possible my Flash scanner is my issue?

I have been having issues with my truck limiting main fuel rate to 79.7 and main injection timing limited to 20.0* I have had numerous people look through my tune file, have had guys send me tunes that work just fine in other 01-02 LB7 trucks and it makes no difference in mine, last night I re-flashed a buddy of mines 02 LB7, after logging it I see the same exact limits I see with mine, could it be possible that my Flash scanner is corrupt or somehow causing this issue in LB7 trucks? I am going to try a friend of mines Flash scanner tonight to see if it makes a difference. Just too coincidental that his truck does it too?? He bought it used out of NH with a DSP5 switch and tune, not sure from who?

Are you sure your monitoring teh correct fuel rate PID? I believe theer are 3 of them, but only 1 will read up to 100 whereas teh others will only read up to roughly 80MM3 of fuel.

I totally forgot about that fuel PID that is limited to around 80mm3, I would say that is indeed the issue.

What would you say the issue is???

That you may be using the wrong PID to log fuel rate.....

I see, which one should I use?

Main mm3 is not the one to log. Look for calculated fuel rate mm3. This takes main and pilot together to see your desired total mm3 as you see it in the tune. As far as timing goes make sure your max trimming tables are at the max you want them to be.

Ok thank you.

Check and make sure B0921 ha been changed because teh stock one limits you to 20 for timing max regardless of what is in your timing tables. As for your fueling, log the pulsewidth and rail pressure and correspond those to the tables to see what it is injecting. ANd the PID for fuel is main injection fuel rate 2.
