Im new to really digging into tuning, i've ran the auto ve. Question is; after i run the map and copy it w/ labels and paste it w/labels and multiply to the B0101 map as the tutorial states, the ve mapped numerator goes to 500.00 on all colums that was monitored. I have followed the tutorial steps 4 times. same end result. Lq4 6.o 2004 denali. What am I missing. Thanks

Hi amiller,

Are you doing paste-with-multiply of the BEN map into table B0101...?

In the BEN map, are you displaying the cell averages (vs the cell counts)...?

What are the cell units of the BEN map and of B0101 (% or g*K/kPa)...?
What are the units of the MAP axis of the BEN map and of B0101 (kPa or psi)...?

[ also, what are the displayed fuel units in the tunetool (EQR, AFR, Lambda)...? ]

Can you post screenshots of your BEN map and your B0101.

Can you also post your tune file and the log file.

For some reason, it appears the LC1 BEN Auto-VE map is not configured properly, it is mapping LC1 AFR PID instead of the LC1 BEN factor PID.
Please change the PID that is being mapped from LC1 AFR to LC1 BEN Factor as shows in the first image.
You should then see the correct Auto-VE BEN map as shown in the second image. Use those values (in the range 0..2) to auto-update the VE table.

Between B3605 and B3618: you don't command enough fuel at high load.

B3648 is way too lean at high load, check that you're not using Lambda units (check units in upper right corner of 3D table display).
If your tunetool is set to display fuel in Lambda units, you will have to set it to EQR, restart the tunetool, and check/fix B3605 and B3648.

B3609: set this to all zeros.

B4206: disable this, otherwise you will get open loop STFT trimming on the cells in B3605 and B3648 that are stoich (i.e. it trims ahead of your tuning effort).

C6001: set P0101, P0102, P0103 to either A:1-Trip or Non-Emissions (to make the MAF fail immediately).

Other stuff:

D0925 has to be less then D0910, otherwise the 1->2 WOT shift won't trigger.
D0930 has to be less than D0915, otherwise the 2->3 WOT shift won't trigger.
(same with the other pairs of WOT downsihft/upshift speeds).

D0961, D0962: these should be all 100% (like D0960), otherwise they interfere with the PT upshift/downshift tables.

Shift pressures can be increased.
Shift times can be reduced.
Shift torque reduction can be reduced carefully.

Hey Paul, in your first pic, the map properties button you circled in red should be 3 buttons to the left :)

Before logging for AutoVE, verify that one of the MAF DTC's has triggered (indicates the PCM has failed over to the VE table).

Thanks guys that resolved issues. Im gonna run this several times until the BENs get close to 1.00 then on to try MAF tuning. Thanks again
