im trying to figure out how to auto tune the VE table using the RR but im a bit confused at what needs to be entered into the filters.

for example im in table B0101 in a 2002 f-body ls1 cal.

I click on the filter icon and up pops filter set 1 and filter set two tabs each contain 4 main boxes

More info (I don't know if this helps): roadrunner-efilive-with-rtacs (http://support.moates.net/2010/04/09/roadrunner-efi-live-with-rtacs/)

Have a read thru this: >>> RoadRunner-FAQs <<< (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?9896-gt-gt-gt-RoadRunner-FAQs-lt-lt-lt)

I think you just use a transient filter.

I haven't a clue...

See here: RTACS-Filters (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?14485-RTACS-Filters)

I always filtered out RPM below idle :hihi:
when WBO2 not active & high throttle transitions.

calc_pids work well for filters. ;)

ok, this may seem a bit dumb but I went out started the car with the efilive tuner open , RR on and connected, the efilive scan tool connected and viewing data. now if I go to set the filters on the RR I cannot select anything in the drop down. what am I doing wrong? do I have to go to the calc pids and copy and paste into the RR filter directly?

Was the scan tool recording?

All valid pids being recorded should be available.

I know for sure I had it on pause (just viewing data while I was trying to get it setup) I thought I tried while recording briefly before shutting the car off but I cannot say 100% yes I will try

just had a chance to go out and try the menus under recording not paused and yep there the choices were. didn't have a chance to do any driving and allow for emulation tuning but I should tonight

ran into another road block. RTACS is only adjusting in column 15 kpa not sure what I did but im guessing I selected something to lock into this. scantool shows recorded data all over the map.

Are you logging the same Pids as the labels on your B0101 table? e.g, SAE.RPM , SAE.MAP.

myws6formula
April 21st, 2012, 11:29 PM
yes, just double checked and its correct as you have listed.

I though maybe I blocked them when I was trying to figure out why I was unable to select filters but from what I read it would have a white back ground for the cells if blocked

Search your computer or look in program files / V7.5 / configuration.
Mines like this:
; Default ROW/COL layout for most LS1 operating systems
[LS1]
;Main VE Table
B0101.ROW=SAE.RPM
B0101.COL=SAE.MAP
B0101.RRR=CALC.BEN1,CALC.BEN2,CALC.BEN_AUT1,CALC.B EN_AUT2,CALC.BEN_FJO1,CALC.BEN_FJO2,CALC.BEN_LC11, CALC.BENLC12,CALC.BEN_LM11,CALC.BEN_LM12,CALC.BEN_ PLX1,CALC.BEN_PLX2,CALC.BEN_TE1,CALC.BEN_TE2,CALC. BEN_WBC1,CALC.BEN_WBC2

when I did a search for cal_link.txt it comes up with two note pad files which are just a list and shows

; Default ROW/COL layout for most LS1 operating systems
[LS1]
;Main VE Table
B0101.ROW=SAE.RPM
B0101.COL=SAE.MAP
B0101.RRR=CALC.BEN1,CALC.BEN2,CALC.BEN_AUT1,CALC.B EN_AUT2,CALC.BEN_FJO1,CALC.BEN_FJO2,CALC.BEN_LC11, CALC.BENLC12,CALC.BEN_LM11,CALC.BEN_LM12,CALC.BEN_ PLX1,CALC.BEN_PLX2,CALC.BEN_TE1,CALC.BEN_TE2,CALC. BEN_WBC1,CALC.BEN_WBC2

Can you post up the log file of your RR.

myws6formula

i have not saved a log as they seem screwed. I have my tune setup for the RR if thats what you need

I was just going to see if your log acted the same way on my laptop.
See if you can track this log with your software.

myws6formula
April 22nd, 2012, 03:35 AM
yep it shows up alright. I show a line through my ben title since I used a lc1

my issue seems to reside in the tune tool refusing to leave the 15 kpa column. if it would go to other cells like the scan tool shows when recording I would be set.

The log I posted up tracks fine in the tune tool on my laptop,did it track ok in your tune tool or was it still stuck on 15kpa.

myws6formula
April 22nd, 2012, 03:48 AM
humm.. i did not try. I wasnt aware I could do that.

As long as the table in the tune has the same axis as the tune that was logged it should still track in your tune file.

myws6formula
April 22nd, 2012, 04:09 AM
ok, took me a little but yes, your log is doing the same thing in my tune tool as my log. it only shows the first column during play

Ok,I had another look at your screen shots and noticed that you are using imperial settings,so I'm going to have a guess here and say that there is a miss match of imperial and metric between the scantool & tunetool. If you go to your pid selection in the scantool & right click on the SAE.MAP Pid you should be able to switch that pid to metric. Try that and see how you go.

myws6formula
April 22nd, 2012, 07:06 AM
this would be the case even with your log too?

just gave it a try still no luck.. man this thing is driving me nuts

True.
If you load your tune & my log or a new one of your own with the suggestions above it should work for you.
With the SAE.MAP set to imperial in the scantool it is basically sending PSI to the tunetool & B0101 is in kpa not psi. That's why you need metric for SAE.MAP in this instance.

myws6formula
April 22nd, 2012, 10:08 AM
Well there you go! I loaded your log and changed the map pid to metric and there it goes

THANK YOU! hope this helps future people who run into this :thankyou2:

+1 what cv8r said...

tunetool MAP axis being stuck on the 15 kPa column is a sign that scantool MAP units are in psi.

The RR/EFILIVE combo is a powerful tool once mastered. Was fun today to setup the software, take a pleasure drive around town and let the software/hardware do all the work.
