Congratulations to Vermont Tuning (http://www.vtunerperformance.com/) for getting their 1.4L Cruze down the track at a respectable 15.28 @ 89MPH.
To put that in to perspective, here's some 1/4 mile times of days gone by I found on the internet.....

1975 Pontiac Trans Am 455 - 16.1
1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 15.2
1995 Chevrolet Impala SS - 15.4
2005 Ford Mustang LX - 15.3

Wow that's moving for a little car.

I remember 10-15yrs ago when 15sec by an amg/m series BMW and the like was fast and the benchmark.

Well done guys

Ok, so they run a turbo, but it's kinda hard to imagine a 1.4L engine doing this.

And a 3200 lb car at that! Great job Brian and EFILive!!! I am loving the E78 work

Was this result from just tuning or are there bolt ons that helped this result?

Just a K&N typhoon intake and a ported throttle body and intake manifold. Everthing else was stock except tuned with EFI Live.

Time is up on Dragtimes.com:
http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-Cruze-Timeslip-24089.html

Dyno posted is before porting the intake manifold. Acording to the GM engine torque PID it is now making ~209 average hp at 5250rpm and ~220 lb-ft at 3000 rpm. Numbers seem about right for the weight (3300 with driver) with an automatic trans in the 1/4. I am running 23psi MAP.

Cheers,
Brian

Any trans tuning? If you could to the lazy shift out of it. You could probably drop a tenth or 2

Trans. is stock, until EFILive brings T76 support. There are major improvements to be had.

If you guys really want T76 support we can do it, I've got a few OS's already mapped and as you know they can be read, but, there hasn't been a big response to them (or nobody knows).

I am definitely interested in T76 support- If you have anything ready for beta testing send it my way.

Cheers,
Brian

Some more reads would be nice, I've got a 2011 Cruze TCM read (OS 24260649), I don't know how many others are out there though.

I can get you a read off my '12 T76 if the read is supported. Thanks for your work!

I sent mine in to Paul back in February - attached again if you do not have it (OS 24260286) I have not started asking my mail order customers to read these out but could get plenty more if you really need them to get started.

Thanks Brian, I hadn't seen that OS so it must have got lost in the system somewhere, sorry about that.
Boost, we don't have a 2012 Cruze TCM read, so that would be great if you could do that. I know you are running the latest download so you should be set to read it.

As you guys know, when you don't have an abundance of torque the trans needs to be your friend and keep the engine in it's sweet spot.
I'll keep on this one, there's a few Cummins issues that need to be resolved ASAP, but this will be a nice little 'need a break' project.

Thanks,
Ross

Just sent it to you and Paul as well. Read went perfect. I appreciate all your great work, we are especially happy with all the Cruze stuff recently. I am pushing 23 psi and 200 torque on a 100% stock LTZ and DARE and Cruze or Sonic in Miami to run it lol. Take care and we look forward to the T76!

T76 flashing is done , now to map out some OS's and we are good to go.

yay! been driving a 2011 1.4T Cruze and 2011 3.0L Captiva both with T76 and man do those TCMs need some work.... going by the KR on both these vehicle and the way the TCMs calibrated might have been the same cal team :ermm:

This might be a dumb question, but can we read / do you need TCM OS's from other GM vehicles? I have a 2012 Equinox with the 2.4L 4 cylinder that I "think" also uses the T76 and definately needs a few tweaks.

Id submit as many T76 OSs as possible, seems if EFILive supports a controller they tend to support all OSs on that particular controller. (Hope thats correct Ross! :D)

That would be much appreciated, it's always nice to get as many OS's mapped out before we release a controller. Nothing worse than people booking cars in for a tune only to find on the day it's an OS we haven't seen before.
A 2012 Equinox is probably using the E39 ECM and T76 TCM (v8 should auto detect that anyway).
I haven't been able to figure what determines when a front wheel drive vehicle uses the T43 or T76, but if it's a 6 speed auto it'll be one of those.

Cheers,
Ross

I had a look on a website somewhere. cant remember exactly where that had all the torque ratings for the 6t35/40/45. i believe the cruize run's the 6t35 so i guess once people start breaking them (if they can due to engine mods) dropping in a 6t45 might be an option too. Apparently the physical packaging is the same but there mostly used with the larger 2lt motor.

Says it's a 6T40 for the Cruze and it's also mated to the ECOTEC-2.4L I-4 VVT DI in larger vehicles.

Usually support AT efilive.com is a good place to send reads like this, not sure if Ross/Andrew want them routed another way though.

The following modifications: bolt-on turbo upgrade (22lb/min mass air flow @ 26psi @ 6100 rpm), meth/water injection, K&N Typhoon intake, ported intake manifold.
I have been tentatively raising the boost little by little but keeping the stock rev limiter in place. I still have the soft stock valve springs installed, but the new set should be here next week - then things should get much more interesting! I was also starting to get misfires in 3rd/4th gear @ higher boost pressure & rpms. Will address this through ignition dwell, fueling, and gap adjustments and see where that gets us next week.

It was a big block chevy of some vintage - He actually hit the brakes at the 1/8 I think and would have been sub 10 seconds otherwise. I pulled on him.... right up to the stage lights:laugh:
