I know this had been discussed in the past but is there a path to add Cummins support to my existing GM v2?

As long as its a blue V2, then you can purchase the Cummins tuning and go from there.

Yes you can add cummins support to your existing v2, however, only the blue v2 has the hardware to support the 2003-2005 cummins. White and blue v2 will support 06-2009 cummins.

I currently have the GM v2, the orginal one, it sounds like if I want to tune an 03-05 I have to buy the Blue V2 too, at $800ish??

Yes, that will unlock the ability to tune the Cummins ECM. That said, since you have a black V2 and not a blue V2, you will still be limited by your V2s hardware to tuning 06-09 Cummins ECMs (should be able to do the later 6.7L ECMs too once support is released for those).

There was a hardware revision in December 2010 to make FlashScan capable of communicating with SCI used on the 2003-5 Cummins. To make it easy for customers to differentiate which type of hardware they have, the FlashScan V2 case changed from Black to Blue when this change was made.

Black V2's are capable of tuning all GM supported vehicles along with CAN based Cummins vehicles (2006+).
Blue V2's are capable of everything the Black V2 can do PLUS 2003-05 SCI based Cummins vehicles (when support is released)

The link provided above is suitable for upgrading both Black and Blue V2's.

Cheers
