If i purchase a Flashscan and for GM gas vehicles initially would I be able to upgrade to tune Duramax and Cummins vehicles at a later date? It appears that the V2 controller is more if you have the Cummins option on the original purchase. I am wandering why this is. I don't want to purchase something that can't be upgraded at a later date. I don't mind spending the extra money up front.-j

Yes, you can buy a FlashScan V2 either as a Scan-only product (no tuning support for either GM or Cummins), with a GM tuning license, with a Cummins tuning license, or with both a GM and Cummins license. If you buy a Scan only, you pay the difference in price ($499? for either GM or Cummins) and EFILive will send you an activation code that will unlock your Scan only device into a GM and/or Cummins tuning device.

So yes, if you buy a GM tuning license you can upgrade it at a later date to add Cummins tuning. (BTW, GM gas and diesel controllers fall under the same GM tuning license.)
