can anyone post the fix? say i'm starting with matching truck E38/T42 OS pair for 4L70E, so everything except ISS is OK.

I hate to be negative but I do not think there is a way to make it work. I tried to make that combo work in an engine conversion setup and could never get all the bugs out it. I spent hours and hours online, calling every LSX shop I knew, other tuners and no one I talked to ever successfully got one to work 100%. There were alot of rumors that it could work with tuning but once again not a single person knew who made it work or ever saw it in person.
I was working with a standalone harness in an old car so it may be different if your working with a complete vehicle. What issues are you having?

Hello Lorenz,

I see your post is mainly a quote of the previous post #3 - which appears to have been deleted.

As you are well aware, a T42 will control a non-ISS 4L60 - just a matter of configuring the tune.

I was just posting about my personal experience, wasnt quoting anyone. I know a T42 can control a non-ISS 4l60 BUT what I ran into was it wouldnt work with E38. I was told by many people you could do with with EFI Live but not a single person in the LS comunity that I know (which is alot of people) knew how to do it or had actually seen it work. Lots of rumors but not one known working E38/T42 without ISS. I even posted on here about it and no one had a solution.

Not sure if this helps, but here was what one guy did to get his working:

I tried all that and it didn't work for me. It had alot weird drivability problems and random torque management.

that's the thing. i have a few ideas how to make this work, but i don't have access to the project car to test them. so i don't want to get into this unless there is a well-defined scheme that i am confident will work the 1st time.

Have been running without ISS downunder for a few years now. Maybe it is the different gravity because we are upside down :).

There isnt anything out that will guarantee it will work. I still havent seen it work yet without any problems. I was able to get the vehicle to run and drive BUT there were alot of little things that were not right.

Nice to finally have confirmation ... recall on Looney Tunes Bug's digging a hole, traversing the center of the earth, ending up in China - upside down.

The opposite Coriolis Effect would seem odd - have become comfortable with the water rotating clockwise as it goes down the drain.

Is yours in a factory setup or an engine conversion. The car I was messing with was an engine conversion with a standalone harness. Im not sure if that was causing more problems or not with no ISS. I have tuned hundreds of engine conversion cars all with zero problems until the E38/T42 with no ISS. I got the car to run and drive fine with no codes BUT it would not go 100% WOT at random times.

it's for a swap. i got a couple of other oddball setups i may have to mail order tune. one is an E67/T42 with possibly older 80E. obviously there basically only 3 things one can do on the programming side. (1) try different ECM/TCM OS pairs, possibly non-matching; (2) swap segments around; and (3) edit the parameters. i have a lot of files and software (TIS, EFIlive, HPT, TCOBD2). if i have a car to play with personally, then i can try different stuff until i get it right.
