Are you using V7.5 or V8? What type of ECM or TCM are you trying to flash?

Are you logged into your Windows with administrator rights...?

What V7 and V8 software build versions do you have...?

What V2 firmware version...?

Correct, from V7 save the file as .ctz.

V7 is for editing the tune file; V8 is for reading/flashing.

File->Save Tuning File As and select .ctz as the file type (if the file is not already of that type).

When V7 or V8 says it can't save a file, it means you're logged into Windows with insufficient privileges/rights, so Windows won't allow EFILive (being run by you the logged-in user) write the license backup file to your PC's hard disk.
