Are you selecting the proper ecm when your trying to read it? It could be a 5.9 or 6.7.

yes I sure am... I even let auto detect pick and it still won't read it..

5.9 or 6.7? I have both here as well as the updated software. I could test both to see if it is a software issue if needed.

it is a 5.9 Rob, I wasted about 1.5 hours of mine and one of your guys time trying to check everything out on my efilive... Please let me know what you find... This is Aaron @ Smokin' Guns Performance

I tested it on our 5.9 2007. auto detected fine and copied out fine. Try it on another truck if possible Aaron. This will tell you if it's a truck issue or something on your end.

If it's been tuned before there is every chance the ECM has been locked by the previous tuner. If you were trying to read an ECM locked by EFILive this is the error you will get, I believe a Smarty locked ECM will give the same error.

Did it have the POD function??

I've never been able to read a ECM that had the pod function.

I would get a dealer reflash

^^^^^^ agreed...dealer flash is the ONLY way to ensure a clean ECM.

Unfortunately returned to stock doesn't mean swat, they don't return the ECM to true factory stock, not even close.

Yep, that's your best bet.

Try flashing in a stock tune off tunefiledepot.com.
