wanting to learn

so i have purchased EFI Live were do i start ive been slowly learning how to tune i purchased the diesel 101 and that kind of confused me a little bit. just want to learn how to tune my own truck because tunes are getting expensive. were do i start? any help would be greatly appriciated!

Start with scanning first. Make a couple logs and understand what is going on in the engine. Then make small changes to your tune to start with. Only tables you should adjust for now are boost, fuel, and injection timing. Read up on here about the timing calculator as it is very useful!
