Hey fellas got around to checking out my injector balance rates at idle. I have 4 good ones, then #3 averages +3.2 and #5 averages -2.0.

What # do you start becoming concerned? I think I read +-4 and it's time to go shopping but IDK.
Truck had 49K and since 36k has had 3 micron filtration. Thanks, Rye.

Thanks Gordon, got to say maybe because I'm a Former Marine, I'm still a little confused as to what number EFI shows vs what number it is in the truck. As it seems it may be in the firing order or it may be from front to firewall. I also did my log at cold start up, I'm gonna try it again at operating temp just to compare. Still don't know if the 3.3 is worth panicking over, no smoke at start up, no poor idle quality, and no miss. IDK.

In my mind and the way I work...anything over 2.0 is showing signs of a weak nozzle...over 3.0 and its time to look for new nozzles. Over 4.0 and your on short time and by then your gonna have some performance issues.

Same thing goes for the (-) numbers...anything over a -3.0 and your running into smoke issues and probably a mm3 value that has wild swings in it at idle.

Anything either side of 0 +/- 2.0 and I say its good. Above and over that...its time for some injector love.

Of course this is my opinions and how I work..other may feel/say differently.

If your not having any issues then I wouldnt let it bother you.

Plus, if your in tune with your truck like I am with mine then you'll know when somethings not right.

I was having a rough idle for about 3-5 seconds with white smoke.

It was time for me.
