I currently have the flash scan cable with EFILive V7. I originally had Autotap with EFILive V5. V5 would scan and view all generic SAE pids off my 2000 Isuzu trooper. V7 won't. The PCM number isn't in the list. Is there anyway to get the flash scan cable to work with V5 or get V7 to work with the PCM. It will connect, clear codes, read codes and view about 15 PID's. Mainly I want to look at cylinder misfire, which V5 would allow me to do. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Suggestion:
In the scan tool, goto Edit->Properties->Logging and change the Scan Mode to either of general or dynamic, one of these should work.

OK, same thing. I connects and show 29 supported PID's and some of those are calculated.

Only 29 PID's...? I don't know what else.

I've only ever used the latest V7 version of the Scan tool, so I'm not sure if this might help or not...

Have you performed a "Validate PIDs" and/or "Validate Modules" from the "Info" menu?

Yeah, I tried to validate PIDs and modules. It find 1 module . The engine controller and the validate PID's finished in about 1 sec and no change.

In the file \Program Files\EFILive\V7\Configuration\sae_generic.txt is a section that identifies supported VINs.

*VINCONFIG

#VIN Config file
#---------- ---------------------------------------------------
1G......... gm_enhanced.prn (USA GM)
2G......... gm_enhanced.prn (Canada GM)
3G......... gm_enhanced.prn (Mexico GM)
4G......... gm_enhanced.prn (USA GM)
5G......... gm_enhanced.prn (USA GM)
6G......... gm_enhanced.prn (Australia GM)
6H......... gm_enhanced.prn (Australia Holden)

You may need to add your VIN to that list so that EFILive will load the gm_enhanced.prn file.
You should only need to add the first 2 digits/letters of the VIN like the list above.

Even if you set this up, be aware that the gm_enhanced.prn file defines enhanced PIDs for the LS1 style PCMs. Other PCMs may not use the same enhanced PID numbers and/or scaling, so we cannot gaurantee the integrity of the data for non supported vehicles.
