I'm trying to go to a 2bar os. in the tutorial my OS is not listed so I'm not sure which one I need to use.
currently 12606960 OS. Any help on the COS I need to use to go to a 2 bar would be greatly appreciated. this is on an 04 returnless fuel rail silverado. thanks in advance.

You will need to first change to an OS that is listed (copy all your tables over, a little tedious but doable).

okay to flash any of the o4 os first.
then read it
copy all tables and flash again correct.

joecar
September 5th, 2012, 07:42 AM
Yes, make sure that it runs ok on the 2004 OS that you flash in (after copying all tables that are different)...

I'm not sure how DBW is affected, but you will have to check the operation of this.

lstruck

I opened a copy but it will not let me flash it?

joecar
September 5th, 2012, 08:48 AM
I opened a copy but it will not let me flash it?Did you attempt a full-flash...?

If so, then the file is not compatible with the PCM.

lstruck
September 5th, 2012, 09:22 AM
how can I open two tuning files at the same time to copy and paste or do i have to open one copy close it then open the other then paste?

joecar
September 5th, 2012, 10:08 AM
You can open two instances of the tunetool (one on your old file, the other on your new file), then for each table do copy-with-labels from old, and paste-with-labels into new...

do this only after you know that the new OS is going to be compatible/flashable with your PCM.

Okay this is what I did I had a friends tune that was on the list. So I put his the matching 2 bar 0S on my pcm. Then I flashed his calibration on to it. Then read the calibration on his and i'm copying and pasting but not the labels? and I didn't find this
:
{B4206} Use 02 With Open Loop Commanded Fuel Table (enabled on my tune but not available on the new OS).

joecar
September 5th, 2012, 01:25 PM
Paste-with-labels automatically aligns the table you're pasting so that the axis row/columns align to the correct values...

You can ignore that parameter.

After you're done copying/pasting, save the file and flash it in, then read it out, this will now be your starting tune...

and make sure your engine/trans run correctly.

next problem how do I adjust my map to give the correct reading?
and where?
with the key on but truck off the two bar reads 97.
another stock car same location stock 1 bar reads 99.

Where do I make the change and how?

joecar

See C6301 MAP scaler.

Yes correct, KOEO (key on, engine off) MAP has to read the same as barometric pressure, see the description of C6301.

Now i'm creating my Create AutoVE MAP
EFILive Scan Tool Software but when i copy my table with lables off of table b0101 and Press the Paste Labels button on the scan window in the map properties it say list index out of bounds (-1) the menu heading on that message is digital tools for on board vehicle electronics? will this be okay?

then it paste but it leaves row 1 blank last row blank. 1 column blank and last column blank?

joecar

Do you click the Paste Labels button...?

No, something is going wrong, the heading should not say that.

What is the V7 build version...?

lstruck

Ok, it looks like it pasted the right labels for each axis...

lstruck
September 7th, 2012, 12:07 PM
I just added another to C and it's still missing the outer most rows and columns.

lstruck
September 7th, 2012, 12:13 PM
it pasted them right but why are the values say for 400rpms missing?

joecar
September 7th, 2012, 12:43 PM
You don't want the data from the tune... the data will come from a log.

lstruck
September 7th, 2012, 12:49 PM
right.. but does it not compare your tune values to what your actually getting and then you multiply that into your table after each log? so if at 400 rpm it says i'm 300% off because it's comparing it to 0 then( my tune may truly already have a value of 3, will it not then set it to double 6 when in reallity it just needed to be a 3?)

joecar
September 7th, 2012, 01:51 PM
Exit the map properties, what does the map say now (you have no log file open)...?

lstruck
September 7th, 2012, 01:58 PM
no I don't have a log file open I was trying to set up my log file. map is empty
I'm trying to do my autoVEmap. I just thought Since those values were missing I would get distorted readings. Since when i did this with the 1 bar I don't recall any values being left out...

joecar
September 7th, 2012, 02:04 PM
The data values you see in the cells in the map properties is example data only (look how orderly it looks), and is not related to the data values you're going to see in the map with a log file open.

if its not one thing its another. Now my scanning v7.5 is not working it say it connects but when i press the monitor button or record buttons I get an error message. I did maybe three logs and flashes then it stopped working......?

bug report:
This error is caused by one or more of the following:

1. The interface cable may not be connected to the PC correctly.

Confirm all cable connections.
Inspect connectors for possibility of debris, damaged pins or corrosion.

2. Some other application may be using the interface cable. Windows cannot share the interface cable between multiple software applications.

If you are using the Scan Tool software, make sure the Tuning Tool software is not performing some task that requires the interface cable.
If you are using the Tuning Tool, make sure the Scan Tool software has been disconnected from the interface cable.

3. The FlashScan interface cable may be "black-box" logging. While FlashScan is logging data, the green LOG lamp will be illuminated.

Terminate black-box logging by pressing the "Start/Stop Data Logging" button on the FlashScan interface cable. The green LOG lamp will extinguish when "black-box" logging has terminated.

4. When reconnecting after an abnormal disconnect the cable may have been left in an unknown state.

Try reconnecting EFILive again.

5. When reconnecting after a previous aborted attempt, the interface cable may still be resetting. If a valid OBD II protocol cannot be detected, some cables can take up to 40 seconds to reset.

Try unplugging and reconnecting the interface cable from/to the vehicle.

6. The interface cable is connected to a com port that is not being checked by EFILive.

Make sure the interface cable is connected to a com port that is less than or equal to the "Highest COM port" setting on the Connection tab page of the Properties window.

7. The vehicle's OBD II connector is not supplying power and/or ground to the interface cable.

Check the fuse that supplies power to the vehicle's OBD II connector.
Pin 16 must always supply 12 volts even when the ignition is switched off.
Pin 4 must be chassis ground.
Pin 5 must be signal ground.

8. A USB to serial converter is being used which may not be operating correctly.

Try unplugging your USB to serial converter from your PC and reconnecting it. Wait 15 seconds before trying again.
Try updating/reinstalling the drivers for your USB to serial converter.
Try a different USB to serial converter.
Try connecting using a computer that has a real RS232 serial port.

Unplug the PC from V2, unplug V2 from the PCM;

then close V8 S&T, close V8 EE, close V7 tunetool, V7 scantool...

then connect PC to V2 to PCM, and start the tunetool...

(and click the Connect button, select pids, and click the Record button).

Did you read/check each of the 8 items...?

lstruck
September 9th, 2012, 04:01 AM
Yes, I check everything there and still nothing. Now I just reinstall all the software and tried opening some of my previous tunes and it will not even open them WTF(excuse the language just a little fustraded with Efi live over the last 3 weeks and nothing seems to be getting better lol) :
This version of the EFILive Tuning Tool has not been
configured to display this PCM's operating system.

This may occur if...
your PCM has been updated by a GM dealer
to fix a software problem in the PCM.
OR
you are attempting to load an EFILive custom PCM
program without installing the matching *.cal file.
OR
you are attempting to load a non-EFILive custom PCM program.

Please save this calibration's *.tun file
and email a copy of it to: support@efilive.com
so that we can add support for it.
