View Full Version : It's been a while since I used flash scan

It's been several years since I used my EFI software, I downloaded the latest software and plugged in my V1 cable into my Z06. I opened the scanner tutorial and started reading through the tutorial. I made the connection to the car but when I tried to pull up the DTC codes that option wasn't available. I'm guessing even though it says that I am connected I'm not. Can someone point me in the right direction? I don't want to tune it just scan it.

Thanks,

Bill

What year is your Z06...?

Did it come with an LS6 or an LS7...?

If it came with an LS6, then it has an LS1B controller (i.e. GenIII LS1B 1999-2008);

otherwise if came with an LS7, then it has an E38 controller which V1 can't read.

I guess that explains it...2011 Z06 LS7. I guess that means I have to upgrade?

Yes you would need a V2 for your 2011 Z06.

I need the V2 even if all I want to do is scan and data log?

Yes, because the OBD2 serial protocol changed from VPW to CAN in 2005/2006.
