reading through the tutorials and noticed the cal.dynair_dma is not valid on my os. Not really clear on the pid I need to log for the equation to work.
Im logging calc.dat but am thinking I need to alter my calc.pids.txt file.
Any insight would be great. thanks.

Since your OS does not support CALC.DYNAIRTMP_DMA, you need to create a DAT (dynamic air temperature) pid from your B4901 table...

see the bottom of thread #1 in the Calc.VET thread, it contains an attached calc_pids.txt file containing a B4901 table, compare it to your own B4901, edit if it's different.

post your B4901 table here (in text form).

my bad, I was using the other calc_pid.txt file. I tried to open the 1998 file yesterday but the link was bad. figured I had to make my own. I opened both and compared and saw the calculated temp was there.
im gonna give it a try.

ok so im assuming that instead of using calc.dynairtmp (as shown on the 1998 pid list) the latest pid seems to be calc.dat as the substitute. also noticed on the sample pid list that you need to log GM.HO2S12, should that read GM.HO2S21 ?

CALC.DYNAIRTMP has been replaced by two newer pids: CALC.B4901 and CALC.DAT

(see these two new pids in the new calc_pids.txt file (attached)... CALC.DAT is defined in terms of CALC.B4901...)

Hey Joe! Ive been compareing the bottom of thread # 1 in the calc.VET thread its the same as mine B4901,you stopped at 90G/Sec. looking as my table it finishes at 150G/Sec. value 0.04 ) Do I fill out calc_pid.txt file ,just as you have it. and in the PRN See sae_generic what should that look like filled out. Thanks Jeff!

Hi Jeff,

If it's the same as your B4901 you can use that calc_pids.txt as is (no need to edit it, unless your wideband does not support serial comms)...

Yes the calc pid for DAT stops at 90 g/s (value 0.04) because above 90 g/s the value is the same (0.04)... the lookup() function uses the last value for any lookups past the end.

You have a FAST wideband...? This means you have to edit CLC-00-110 to read as follows: "{GM.EQIVRATIO}*{CALC.AFR_F1}/14.7" (using Notepad).

When logging, you don't need (can't log) GM.DYNAIRTMP_DMA... you will log CALC.B4901 and CALC.DAT instead.

Are you looking on the PIDs tab in the V7 scantool...?

joecar

Calc pids cannot be logged using BBx logging on V2 or V1...

but, when you view a log file using the V7 scantool you can apply the calc pids, and you can embed those pids in the log file permanently by saving the log file.

Hi Jeff,

You don't need the LONGFTAVGx pids, you can unselect those.

GM.DYNAIRTMP_DMA doesn't work with your OS so you can unselect that also.

You don't want CALC.VE, instead you want CALC.VET and CALC.VEN.

You don't want GM.AFR, instead you want GM.EQIVRATIO.

Click on the column heading "Parameter" (on the word "Parameter"), this sorts the list alphabetically on this column, then scroll up/down as you look for these pids:
CALC.B4901, CALC.DAT, CALC.LTFTBEN, CALC.WO2BEN, CALC.SELBEN, CALC.CL, CALC.VEN, CALC.VET.

( after dropping the calc_pids file into the User Configuration folder did you restart the scantool...? )

You have to make sure the calc_pids.txt file you downloaded is named exactly "calc_pids.txt".

Hi Jeff,

you don't need CALC.BEN_F1, you can delete that also (to avoid confusion).

Thanks Joe! removed Calc.Ben_F1
Know! the next step! MAPS. I started 3 maps, (1) Calc.VE.Table(B0101 map) (2nd)is "LTFT BEN"_(Average)map and 3rd."B4901 Charge Temp.Blending".
Am I on the right track???? and now What should the Filter for each maps look like. Thanks jeff

...also noticed on the sample pid list that you need to log GM.HO2S12, should that read GM.HO2S21 ?Yes, correct.

( HO2Sx1 voltages are being used for visual sanity check )
