I was attempting to read the tune off a friends truck at the track tonight to check the shift points and was gonna check the AFR commanded in the tune.
Its an 2004 silverado. The pcm was tuned with efi live but not sure if it was locked or what.
So when i tried reading it, i got this error.

Then i pulled the radio fuse and tried it again since it had a aftermarket head unit. Same error.

Its been a couple years since ive ran into a problem like this. Dunno where to start.

Jonathon,

I take it you have V7 build 211...?

Do you see this on other PCM's...?

Ill have to check.. i havent done an update since about feburary 2012..

This is the only time i seen this error.
Ive done a few 2000 and a few 2002 LS1B pcms along with a 2003 and a 2004.

This one is giving me the error.

Check the lock status. Does it have an alarm or anything else that may be messing with it?

I would suggest something aftermarket on the data bus causing issues.

Is there another fuse i can try? or do i just need to do a bench flash setup?

You really do need V7 build 211 and firmware 2.07.35 (obtained via V8 build 203).
