One of my new laptop's (Acer) keeps changing the driver for EFI Live. It will work fine for awhile and then it wont recognize my V2. With it plugged in if I open EFI Live it will just stop loading, if I unplug it it will open fine. I can't figure out what its doing. Any ideas? I have the latest updates and its only one of my laptops so I know its the laptop.

Sounds to me like you have the newer drivers installed which did what I think you're describing (V7 hanging on start when FlashScan V2 is connected).

See HERE (http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=2864-USDC-6616) for a knowledgebase article on how to downgrade to the stable/reliable drivers.

Windows 7

I know thats the problem. I can change the driver and it will work for a few days/weeks and then wont recognize EFI Live and hang on startup. How do I keep my laptop from changing the drivers on its own? I just tried both drivers and it wont work, going to re-boot and try again.

Do you have any software installed that automatically checks/updates drivers...?

Perhaps try uninstalling the drivers using EFILive USB Manager and then remove the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive\Drivers\EFILive\Win-XP-Vista-7' folder which is the newer drivers. I don't really have any other suggestions as it's something isolated to your PC and not a general issue.

It's definantly my laptop, I'm just not enough computer literate to figure it out, lol. I'll try that
