View Full Version : 07' TBSS E67 set up for boost?

PRAY

I am pretty sure I am going to put a turbo on my 07' TBSS. What do I have to change or turn on so I can get up and going? It looks like this ECM is set up for boost from the factory. Do I just switch to a factory 2bar MAP and enable the super charger tables? It seems that I won't need a COS like I did in the GEN 3/4 stuff. Any help would be appreciated. I am only looking to run 10lbs at max.

Install 2Bar MAP, adjust MAP tables, open 2/3 Bar VVE tables and edit those for your fueling. No COS needed with E38/E67s to run boost, the factory OS can do it. You CANNOT enable the s/c tables, they're either enabled or disabled from GM. Doesnt matter though, just use the 2 or 3 Bar VVE tables and tune it like you would normally tune it.

Great, thanks. What MAP tables do I adjust and to what? I won't be going over 2bar with this thing. Do I need to mess with the Baro stuff also? I am guessing that I need to get a Cobalt SS or CTSV MAP? Thnaks Erik.

I know a bunch of guys run Cobalt SS 2 Bar MAPs because they're cheap IIRC, I cant remember but I know one of the 2 Bar MAPs is a plug n play install into the stock truck intake we have. If you wanted to run more boost, the Duramax MAP is 3.3 Bar.

Look in the Engine Diagnostics section and under the MAP folder, the params to change the MAP from a 1 Bar to 2 Bar are in there. I dont know exactly which ones you have to adjust, but give me a little time and Ill check it out. Be a day or two, running out the door now and have a bunch of work to get done tomorrow.

Don't worry bro. I am in Afghanistan till June. I just wanted to get all my ducks in a row before I committed to anything. Time is what I do have. Matt (LT1Z) is convinced that I will have to use a custom OS to get it to work. I know he is a HPT guy but he does seem very knowlegable. It just seems to me that the E67 in our trucks with EFI live will work with out a custom OS. Thanks again.

Thanks Joe, I will look at each one of those carefully. I have been reading over and over and over the idle tuning guide, the VVE tuning guide from EFI live and Simon and I need to find more information of injector tuning. Are there any sticky's I am missing on that end. I have been doing searches and what not and finding some good info, just not finding how they translate into the tables provided. I am pretty sure I had the old LS1 stuff down pretty good but the E38's/67's I am still learning. All the cars I have been doing have mainly been bolt ons and what not. I just did a 2010 Camaro H/C/I that started out great and then threw a major curve ball at me. I have it figured out now. Thanks again.

Brett

You dont need a COS, if you wanted to use HPT then you would.

+1 the EFILive has E38/E67 VVE tables for 1-bar/2-bar/3-bar built into the one tune file...

Yes, E38/E67/VVE is a big learning curve...

me --> :chair:<-- E38/E67

That is what I thought when I looked at it. I guess HPT doesn't support the ECM's the way EFI Live does. I try to tell every one. Best product out there. My learning curve seems to be more of a vertical cliff. Great reads by the way Joe. I got a lot more out of them then intended I think. Each one had two or three nuggets that I wansn't even looking for but will be extreamly healpful. Keep them coming if you have any more that you think will apply to my situation. Thanks to both you and Erik.

There's a bunch of reading here: Collecting-links-to-tutorial-material-scattered-in-other-sections (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?2990-Collecting-links-to-tutorial-material-scattered-in-other-sections)

most of that is LS1 but there's E38/E67 stuff scattered thru it, I'm constantly collecting/adding more links;

as I improve my understanding of E38/E67/E78/etc I'll re-organize that thread.

Just let me know if you need anything, I havent tuned a blown VVE yet but I know enough to make my own head spin about the ECM/TCM and what things work in the TBSS.
