View Full Version : Advice needed, please take a look to my tune

Engine works great, and has good mpg. Have good response. I did a lot of vet tune in CL to perform drivebility and drives like a CTS LOL. I take it to the track and did not like the results, the engine does not pull on mid RPM to hi rpm. The best ET was only 12.30 (what a shame).

I get my WB but I can´t make it work yet.

Please take a look to see if there is something unusual.
My target is to work with the WB this weekend but I would like to have this checked first. 13955

Hey Doc,

Everything looks ok, maybe MAF needs a little attention (be sure you apply the transient filter when doing Calc.VET);

I think your wideband will help you with this (high load area of VE and MAF tables)...

you're close, I think you can easily crack into the 11's;

what was your TS mph...?

Thank you for your replay. speed was 114 mph

Do you have a log from the track run? What was the timing on the passes?

DocZ28
September 27th, 2012, 02:29 AM
Now that you mention timing, It was on 23* Let me take the log from my Laptop and load it

I can´t make the WB works, I do step by step the installation, the gauge readings is not the same to the efilive readings.
As the gauge read 13 or 14 AFR, the log shows 9 or 10 in the readings. What could be wrong?

Do you have FlashScan V1 or V2...?

Which wideband do you have...?

FlashScan V1, and LC-1 wide band

Post a log file of the pids EXT.AD1 and EXT.AD2.

Which AFR pid are you using...?

How is your LC-1 connected...?

Do not know for sure, is the one mentioned in tutorial.

How is your LC-1 connected...?

red: to switched 12v
blue: to ground
brown: to white wire of the gauge
yellow: to gauge and v1 device
black: to led and push botton and botton to ground
white: to ground and black wire of the gauge
green: it does not have green.

( note: LC-1 black is not a ground )

This is how is connected.

Use CALC.AFR_LC11 or CALC.AFR_LC12.

DocZ28
October 2nd, 2012, 12:35 PM
Do Ihave to change it in this?

CLC-00-110
factor 0.5 1.5 .4 "{GM.EQIVRATIO}*{EXT.WO2LAM1}"

joecar
October 2nd, 2012, 02:30 PM
Yes, if you're using EXT.AD1 then change it to this (the green part):

CLC-00-110
factor 0.5 1.5 .4 "{GM.EQIVRATIO}*{CALC.AFR_LC11}/14.7"

if you're using EXT.AD2 then use CALC.AFR_LC12 instead of CALC.AFR_LC11.

DocZ28
October 3rd, 2012, 03:13 AM
This will be:
"{GM.EQIVRATIO}*{CALC.AFR_LC11}/14.7"
or
"{GM.EQIVRATIO}*({CALC.AFR_LC11}/14.7)"

It doesn't matter, the result will be the same.

I´m confused....

Joe, Do I have to program the LC-1 for EFILive, as says in the the innovate web page?
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/resources/efilive_tutorial.php

Or this is included in the cal_pids.txt. that I already modified with what you mention in post #13

Just set the LC-1 to factory defaults...

then use the modified calc_pids.txt.

Thanks, done that. Today I will start logging

It still not working, I´m think maybe is a problem with the cal_pid.tx, here is my file, and also a log file.
The gauge is working cuz when I move the afr in the scan tool, the gauge change reading as I increase or deacrese the AFR. But the readings on efilive not change as the gauge does.

Post your tune file from which that log was taken.

Something looks wrong with the MAF pid, it looks like it is under-reporting.

Your wideband is showing AFR 10.3, but your LTFT's are negative but not pegging...!!

Post screenshots of your CALC.SELBEN MAF map and CALC.VET VE map.

Are you using CALC.VET [g/K/kPa] or CALC.VET [%]...?

joecar

Need to operate the throttle smoother/longer.

DocZ28

I´m using g/k/kpa, here is the tune file, with the changes.

I ran out of time today, I'll look at it tomorrow.

Don´t worry Joe, take your time, I really appreciate it.

Yesterday I take a new log but this in my car where I now that in CL the VE is not so bad, and I have the same result, When the gauge is showing 13.5 to 14.5 AFR, the scan tool shows low reads 7 the lowest and 10 the highest. With a DMM check the volts in yellow wire and is similar to what the scan tool readings from .1v to 1v. But it suppose to be from 1v to 5v? and the other output from the lc-1 the one that goes to the gauge is between 1 to 5v.

So could I have a bad config. in pid txt?
Any advice will be helpful.

joecar

It should range form 0V to 5V...

joecar

red: to switched 12v
blue: to ground
brown: to white wire of the gauge
yellow: to gauge and v1 device
black: to led and push botton and botton to ground

green: it does not have green.

You want the LC-1 brown wire to go to V1 (not the yellow one)...

( if you don't want to swap wires, you can reprogram the LC-1 using the LM Programmer software... but if you do this you have to make a mental note to remember this. )

Also, does the gauge need both yellow and brown wires (the LC-1 user manual shows only yellow going to the gauge)...?

The DB gauge wiring only receives the brown wire signal from the LC1 according to the innovate installation guide, but wiring the brown lc1 wire to the v1 might solve the problem since they have different voltages.

Analog output one is 1.1V = 14 AFR and .1V = 15 AFR. Analog output two is setup as 0V = 7.35 AFR and 5V = 22.39

Thank for your time Joe a to you C5 . I made a mistake when typing.

This is how is rigth now:
RED: to switched 12v
BLUE: to ground
WHITE: to ground
YELLOW: to V1 device (volts 0v-1.1v)
BROWN: to gauge (volts 1v-5v)
BLACK: to led and botton to ground

The LC-1 manual says the gauge only needs one wire from the controller and is the brown wire.
So correct me if I´m wrong. I have two options:
1. Reprogram the LC-1 or
2. Route the brown wire from LC-1 to gauge and to v1 device

joecar

Do option #1 (reprogram the LC-1).

joecar

Which VE table did you start with...?

joecar
October 17th, 2012, 09:37 AM
Comments:
- wideband AFR is incorrect (reprogram LC-1 to correct this) <-- this is why Calc.VET is not working.
- your O2 sensor stopped switching at frame 2728, maybe because PCM sees something wrong.

Question:
- why is P0106 disabled in C6001...?
- what injectors do you have (does B4001 match...?)
- what is presure measured at fuel rail...?

So you will need to reprogram the LC-1, undo the VE and MAF tables (go back to previous values), and take a new log.

DocZ28
October 17th, 2012, 09:52 AM
I test routing a wire, option 2, and now the reading are the same. Any way I will try reprograming the LC-1
And check differences.

Thank for your help

I haven´t see this, I comes from a previous tuner, I´m enabling, and the injectors match but will check again the presure is 58psi
