Oh dear, what can I say, time to update your software. EFILive has has E78 support since late 2010!
Maybe you are only installing v7.5 updates, in which case you won't see the E78. The E78 needs to be done via the V8 software. On the download page on the website you will find links for both.

Did you install the V8 software?
Here's what you should do. Download both v7.5 and V8 from HERE (http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=133). Manually uninstall your current v7.5 software because I would suspect it's an earlier version that what the installer used in the link is. Once you've uninstalled your older version of v7.5, install both v7.5 and v8 from those downloads.
Some of the new ECM's are only supported for reading and flashing via the V8 software, E78 being one of them. You read the ECM with V8, still edit and scan via V7.5, but then also reflash the controller via V8.

GMPX

Yes no problem doing that. V8 is not a full replacement for v7.5 yet, it's transitioning to that though.
Also have a quick read through this thread (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?20982-have-not-updated-my-controller-in-a-long-time-whats-needed).

The V7 and V8 software cannot share a connection to the FlashScan device. If the V7 Scan or V7 Tune software is connected to the FlashScan device then V8 will not be able to connect to the FlashScan device.
Make sure V7 is not running* when you try and connect using the V8 software.
* Or at least that the V7 Scan Tool is disconnected and the V7 Tune Tool is not displaying any Read/Flash/Lock/PCM Info window.

Connect up to the V7 software and select Help->FlashScan V2 / AutoCal V2 Licensing.

Sorry, I didn't see that reply. EFILive V8 will not work with a device with firmware that old.
You'll need to upgrade your firmware to V2.07.35. To do that, please read the document that can be found at:
Start->All Programs EFILive->V8->Documents->Upgrading FlashScan.
The most important thing to get right during the upgrade process is to make sure you get the firmware to exactly V2.04.72 before attempting to upgrade the boot block.
If you attempt a boot block upgrade when the firmware is V2.04.70 (like yours is now) or V2.04.71 then chances are the V2 will become unresponsive and you'll need to return it to EFILive to be reset.
The document explains the steps you need to take in more detail, please follow it carefully.

Paul

OK but this is killing me,I have so much in my V2 that I do not want to try this,in this area I have had to set up at lest 10 computers with EFI,it is at time so hard to work with EFI for others and now me ? ,I like EFI a lot WOW

Unless you upgrade your FlashScan firmware you will not be able to use EFILive V8. Its not a difficult process to upgrade. But there are a couple of traps that can cause a problem.
If you don't follow the instructions exactly, the worst case scenario means sending your device back to EFILive. You won't lose anything from your V2, we just have to reset the firmware here.

Here's the document Paul mentioned, read it carefully before proceeding: Upgrading FlashScan.pdf (http://forum.efilive.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=13883&d=1347307826)
You only have to upgrade your V2 firmware from one PC only (not 10).
Read the document and do exactly what Paul said:

The firmware update is a matter of minutes. They (EFILIVE) have even put in features in the help tab on v7 and v8 to check for updates. If you aren't running updates, you will not have the cal files for late model products.
This is not in any shape or form a fault of efilive, they are expanding support and making our end product better. To accomplish this, they must implement updates to allow us to move forward.
Follow the update instructions and you'll be just fine.
I also tune stuff from all over the nation and I couldn't do it without these important updates.
joecar
November 14th, 2012, 10:30 AM
Once you install V7 build 211 and V8 build 203, the Check Updates feature works...
and once you get your firmware and bootblock current (carefully read the document, takes less than 5-10 minutes to perform), V8 will also update those in the future.

To use EFILive on any PC, just install V7 b211 and V8 b203 and you're ready to go (once V2 firmware was updated and BBx configured).

You are not done yet...
the first step was to get 2.4.72 into your V2...
did you read this document yet: Upgrading Flashscan (http://forum.efilive.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=13883&d=1347307826)
V8 will not work until your V2 has 2.7.35... but you must read that document carefully/entirely in order to get there...
[ basically, you want to do Step A and Step D... but reading the whole document explains some things (like dead poll mode, for example) ]

First thing, your posts are not clear and are very hard to read, I can't follow what you are trying to say. "I have 100.00 in to this so far with no help", 100.00 what? dollars, hours?
Next thing, "No help", really?, we are on the 5th page of trying to 'help'.
2 weeks ago Joecar asked you to read the document "Upgrading Flashscan", have you? Why do you want to send the V2 in to EFILive, is it dead?
