for simple ECM flashing of FACTORY files to update or fix ECM's?

If you are servicing cummins this way in your shop, I am interested in hearing what method/hardware you prefer.

Here is the warning, to recap.

"Chrysler currently has an issue re-flashing Dodge Cummins Diesel 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickup trucks. The re-flash will work, but the truck will be in a no run condition when complete. This is due to the VIN getting erased during the procedure. The controller is not damaged, bu the VIN needs to be written to the controller before the vehicle will start. Chrysler does not offer this functionality currently."

That's interesting because Chrysler rewrites the vin everytime they flash as part of the skim protocol.

I use the Chrysler WiTech. It will flash the 06-07 5.9L. The WiTech enables you to put the secret SKIM KEY in the Wireless Control Module after flashing. (Thats were the no start issue comes from). At the time it will not flash the 98.5-05 Cummins. They are working on it. You have to use a DRB III with a GPID cable to flash them for now
