Ok so i am programing a 04.5 lly and while programing it froze half way through the flash. Now it will get all the way to where it is programing and it stops different places 7k 15k 20k 25k you get the drift. Any way then it says retrying last block. I have tried everything it seems unplug radio fuse info fuse pulled the whole radio out jumper cables on while flashing unpluged batteries for 5 min 15min 30min and 10 hrs no change have tried the alt key low speed high speed together not together no good. have read alot on this and it does not have after market alarm or remote starter. i have tried restarting my computer and flashing that way. not sure what else to do any help would be much appreciated have a guys truck sitting at my place and he needs it asap.

Is your software up to date? There was an issue with lLY's doing this during a flash that was resolved awhile back.

Looks like you are all up to date.
Maybe try reflashing through the V8 software instead. But to me it looks like something on the communications bus is interrupting the process, maybe try pulling the BCM fuse out as well. Things that are known problems are devices like iPod adaptors or XM radio adaptors that are wired on to the communications bus. Unfortunately they might not be disconnected when you unplug the radio fuse.

I don't know where the BCM fuse is either sorry.
You can use your V7.5 files in V8 no problem.

So a very quick run down on flashing with V8.
Open the program.
Click on 'Tune' (or press F3)
Then when a new window pops up, choose 'Open' down the bottom.
Find the file you are trying to flash in and open it.
Then click on 'Full Flash' as it appears that is what you are trying to do.
Then click the "Full Flash' button again and see how it goes.

ok i tried the v8 software and it does not even make it to the loading part says invalid serial number then end the run.

Mmm ok, I think you are going to have to just start pulling fuses in the hope it kills whatever it is interrupting the bus. Previous poster gave a hint as to where the BCM fuse is.

ok if you could tell me which fuses not to pull i will pull all of the other ones. lol crazy stuff.

I am sure when people have issues like this on the LLY it's always the Radio and BCM fuse that solves it. As for what not to pull, I don't know.

There can be up to four fuses for the body control module. One is in the underhood panel and there will be one, two or sometimes three more in the interior fuse panel. Pull anything labled "TBC". "TBC" is Truck Body Computer. Hope that helps.

Pulled all of the tbc fuses and a ton more fuse box is pretty empty made it the farthest it has but still only 41k out of 928k so really really far away.

Where are you located? Maybe you can find somebody with a bench narness to flash teh ECm that way so you can rule out the data bus.

ok well even though you all kind of left me hanging there at the end i really do appreciate all the help especially you GMPX i mean i know your a site admin and everything but it is nice that you are very knowledgeable about your stuff and willing to help out with guys like me that have never ran into this kind of thing before. I ended up figuring it out although i have not narrowed it down to one fuse but a collection of fuses that i had to pull out to get it going. And for the record none of them were the standard ones like radio info tbc bcm ones. i could leave all those alone. Which was very weird and frustrating for a long time. Worked on it for two days and posted in three different forums and you all were the only ones that helped me out. Thanks again. mail me text me anything you need i know how much of a pain in the butt it is when you just cant put it all together. Again and finally Thanks Alot all.

Well, it's Saturday where I am, so apart from the early morning check (when I responded), I got stuff to do!!
Glad it's up an running though, it's certainly not the normal thing that needs to be done.

Sorry just now seeing this had exact same issue in every way but one a few days ago. Pulled fuses and disconnected until ECM was only thing on (supposed to be)bus. Still no go and every time I attempted a flash in v7.5 I had to disconnect batteries to get ECM back. Was to the point of driving to a reputable performance shop in Danville, IN two hours away as I had to parts there anyway and they had kindly offered to let me use their bench harness. But being stubborn I kept at it (not knowing the issue kills me) and I pulled out the aftermarket radio and there was a module attached that retains the door chime with said aftermarket radio that was wired to battery+ with scotch locks and on the bus. Disconnected that and bam all is well. Wonder how many gm modules are deemed bad and replaced after a failed flash and dropping off the bus only to find out a new one does the same. With my issue after and attempt it wouldn't start flashing just say retrying previous block, then I stopped it and next attempt ECM not detected until disconnecting batteries! Hope this helps someone!

Open it in V7.5, file save as then change the file format to V8 .ctz. Open that with V8 and flash it.

Sorry man, it's Ross/GMPX's Saturday (btw he's not just the site admin, he's the only coder cracking ECM/PCM/TCMs behind this entire product) and I check this during breaks at work. We try, but this for me isnt a full time job.

Try flashing using V8, Ive had much better luck with it vs V7.5.

Yep, usually always turns out to be something hidden away that is on the bus (non factory).

I'd hate to think, it must drive GM dealers crazy.

No worries at all, I know tempers can get the best of us at some times. Especially when frustrated as heck with a car, my dad and I just wrapped up our 4th day working on his 03 Audi A6. Replacing the cats on it, factory service manual entails dropping the entire engine/trans. We just got both sides out a bit ago just dropping the subframe, but we're probably 15-20hrs into it right now. The things coming out of my mouth weren't so nice...

I see from your other thread that you got it flashed, did V8 end up working for you?

no i never ended up using the v8. just stuck with what i know best. Sorry i didnt get back sooner i finished that truck and had another dsp5 to do about 2 hrs after that all went smooth on that lb7 never had a problem with those.
