I swapped my 4L60E to a 4L80E in my 01 GMC Sierra. I am using COS 0202003. When I do a reflash its hard to get the truck started. It will crank and go to 1000 rpm, then die. It will do this 15-20 times. then when I start it the rpms will go to 2000 for about 5 sec then settle down to the desired idle rpm. can someone look at my tune and help me out. Thanks.14325

Im looking at it now, just a heads up I get a warning that A0009 Boost VE is out of range. But I dont see any values above 500 so Im confused here...

To clarify, this problem did not exist when you were running the exact same tune just with a 60E trans segment?

Once it actually starts, then the RPMs settle to desired (either 750 or 775 per your tune) and it continues to idle just fine until you flash it again?

The idle section isnt stock, have you done a true hot/cold idle calibration?

Erik, if you view it in g*K/kPa you will see it.

Try setting P0101,2,3 in C6001 to A:1-Trip.

It's didn't happen before. It's a heads cam full bolt on procharged build so pretty much everything has been changed. Joecar, I'll give that a try

Once it starts its fine after that. Until I reflash it with a new tune

Im still having issues with it not wanting to start after a reflash. Is there anything else I can try?

Can you post a log file of it not starting.

14657I looked thru the log but can't see the reason for the hard start.

It's not setting the code to go to sd. After a few attempts to start I will check the codes and nothing. I did remove the maf and wired in an aftermarket iat sensor. Could that be causing an issue?

In C6001 set P0101,2,3 to 1-trip or Non-Emissions... either setting should cause the DTC to show up immediately (which causes the PCM to use VE only).

( this might be why it's hard to start, it was trying to use MAF when it doesn't exist, so without a DTC it tries to estimate what the MAF should be reading and uses that )

They are all set to 1 trip. I may try to set them to non emissions and see if it works

I set p0101,2 and 3 to non emission and it still does it

Do you get a MAF DTC immediately while trying to start...?

No. Ill tr and start it a few times, turn the ignition off try a few more times. And eventually it will start

You want it to run in SD...

if you don't see an immediate MAF DTC then it is still using the MAF table and/or some calculated MAF value;

if you see an immediate MAF DTC then it is using the VE table, which means VE table might need some work in the low rpm row...

how does it idle once it is started...?

It idles great with the cam that's in it. 227/235 .614/.621 113 lsa. Idles at 750 rpm. Afr is also good except a rich decel but that's due to the 1000cc injectors.

It does rev to about 1800 every time I start it. Will stay there for a few seconds then slowly go down to the desired idle speed

There's some Idle/Startup tables that might need to be look at...
