To start I know pilot is there for a reason, and that many people choose to keep it. I'm doing this merely to learn the software and be able to manipulate the file and see how it all works together. First thing I learned in EFI tuning of gas vehicles is to dumb down the computer first to learn what does what. I made some changes to timing of the primary event, and 0'd out the post and pilot. Also increased primary quantity a bit. Truck starts up normal, runs drives etc. Every thing seemed good for a few trips. Obviously its down on power because I haven't had time to really get into that end of things yet. Problem is, we just had a very cold spell up here. Truck was pouring white smoke out and sounded like it was missing on morning cold start. Flash my pilot/primary injection tune back in and its fine. I can't seem to figure out what is causing this. What things should I log to be able to see what is changing. And yes I am new to diesels so please excuse me if I sound uneducated in the field.
