No sorry they are not, the Van used a specific OS that we had some troubles getting DSP5 to work with.

good to know what other vehicles that have duramax's are not supported.

FYI, you can supposedly move a few wires around and flash a pickup tune into the van ECM.

so could you just pull the ecm and bench flash it with the truck tune and not have to deal with the wires? could be easier for some people that did not want to cut into them.

Sure but thats not the problem, if you can read/flash the ECM with a van tune in the truck then the OBDII comms are just fine. Its the OS and the pinout on the ECM thats the problem. It sounds like if you swap the pinout on a van to match that of a truck, you could full flash a truck OS and use that.

Im just hearing of this now so I have no idea if it works, thats just what I took away from JoshH's post.

The 2008 Savana Van is supported for tuning. They are not supported for our Custom Operating system to allow 5 position switchable tuning.

We offer tuning of 2001-2010 Duramax vehicles as listed here http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=148&Itemid=147

Cheers

Now that I think of it though, it was an LBZ rather than an LMM. I'm not sure it would work on an 08. On an LBZ, there aren't many wires to change. I studied the pinouts from our 06 van and compared to a pickup of the same year, and there were just a handful of wires, maybe 7 or 8.

are there any other vehicles that are tune able but do not support the custom operating systems.

There is a larger percentage of supported vehicles that have no Custom Operating systems than those that do. Many of the supported Gasser vehicles do not have COS.

You can see if there are any available Custom OS's by opening the tune tool and reading (or open) your file, then click on the Upgrade OS tab to see what COS's are available.

There are also DSP upgrade documents for LB7/LLY and the seperate document for LBZ/LMM that list each OS that is supported. These documents can be accessed from the Documentation/Tutorial section of our website. http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=130&Itemid=134

Specifically for Duramax, we support all of the trucks - 2001-10 with our Custom OS's. From memory, early 2001 ECM's need to upgrade to a newer OS before they can obtain access to DSP. Van's are hit and miss due to differences and lack of actual requests for support, some of the earlier Van's use the same OS as the trucks and as such are supported. It should be mentioned that this thread makes a total of 4 requests over 8 years of support for the unsupported Van OS's, so the work involved would not cover the development cost.

Specifically, what vehicle are you looking for a COS for?

No problems. We've had a total of 4 requests for unsupported Vans. One of those customers has since sold his van...so clearly the volume isn't there.
