Here are 2 04 ECM's. One is for a manual, one an auto.

3971104

I figure it best to ask this question before assuming anything, I know some of you use techauthority. Can either of these be programmed (bench) for either transmission type?

I am assuming that the SCI ecms are similar tot he CAN ecms..and just flashing a Auto/Man OS file will do the trick.

Tech Authority will not allow you to swap between auto or manual, it will only allow flashing of a matching update, it checks part numbers before flashing.

If you talk sweet to Smarty they will send you a manual or auto recovery file that will work. We do this on SCI trucks with manual VBs. Obviously no bench flashing this way though.

I even tried puting an automatic VIN in with the scan tool and then do a reflash with Techauthority and it still kept a manual file in the ECM
