I am looking into buying the EFI package for diagnostic use and perhaps the occasional tune.

My question is this:

The other day my integrated trailer brake module failed. I ordered the part from the local chevy dealer and installed it. However, this module needs to be programed once it is installed on the truck. Can the EFI live package do this? Or am I still going to need to visit the shop?

Thanks in advance.

EFILive can program only the engine/transmission controller.

The only way to reprogram a module like this would be to buy a DrewTech Mongoose Pro GM cable and a GM SPS subscription. EFILive cannot program/reprogram any modules except for the engine and transmission modules.

I just received my new FlashScan in the mail. I opened the box and noticed the warning about using the FlashScan and laptop with an inverter attached to the vehicle. Can you plug the laptop into a normal outlet, like in the garage? Or will this too cause damage?

Yes, you can plug your laptop into a wall outlet as long as you're not also charging your vehicle's battery from the wall outlet

( i.e. avoid loops )
