just wondering
if boost is related to timing in anyway ?
(example )
if an engine was running 12 deg timing with 10 psi from a PD blower and you drooped the timing back to 10 deg would it lose any boost ??

Short answer no. The boost will remain constant but you will lose power. I run 18* at 12 psi on my procharged truck. 91 oct and 50% water/meth injection

i was just wondering
as a friend had pd blower put on and it was only making 7psi at the start of the tune then it ended up at 9 psi when the tune was finished ??

Interesting question...I'm thinking that it could, but not sure why. Boost is a measure of restriction, more restriction more boost, less restriction less boost all else equal.
Hmm, anyone else have any other input. I know timing can affect turbo apps greatly, but a PD blower..HMMM??

partially collapsed cats can cause an increase in boost.

If the shift points were increased it will add boost.

When I started tuning I started at 13* and added timing till I got to where I'm at now with 20* and 12psi on a centri. Boost never changed

I have seen boost rise just from cats being restrictive... not even blocked or collapsed...
we put in some straight through's for testing and boost didn't rise up......
