Option not available yet? V8

Hello,

I purchased the EFI Live V2 as a diagnostic tool so that I could read live data from the ecm and troubleshoot my engine. While I had a bit of a learning curve with the new software, I have only been successful at getting the V 7.5.7 to work. When I attempt to enter the scan mode on V8.2.1 Build 203 it says "This option is not available yet", and has a picture with "Top Secret" on it.

I Thought that possibly my License was not in the software. However when I click on the License (F7) button, it displays a screen with my FlashScan Serial number and no way to input my registration key as i did on V7.

I really don't have any need to tune, so I didn't purchase the tune option.

Am I missing Something?

Nope. V8 is an "in development" software release. The current RC1 version has more options available, but V7.5 is still the official production version of the software.

If you installed the RC1 software (both V7 and V8) then:

V7: laptop passthru mode: has scan and log ability
V8: laptop passthru mode: has log ability, but it's in development

V2: standalone BBX mode: scan and log ability (use V8 software to open log on laptop)

[ note on terminology: scan = scanning of OBD-II data; log = logging of pids ]
