View Full Version : Idle Mode when Moving?

Currently, my tune is setup to use idle mode only when the vehicle is stopped and the throttle is closed, this seems standard. My question is, what if I were to increase the Max Speed for Idle Mode {B0107} from 0 mph to 256 mph? The idea would be that as long as the throttle is closed it will use idle mode, even when rolling. The reason for doing this would be prevent a high or bouncy idle when rolling in neutral, and the throttle cracker could be disabled. The idle trims would be able to hold the idle speed as if you were stationary.

Some concerns I have is whether or not DFCO will work in idle mode. And I don't know how well idle mode would respond to deceleration when in gear, for example coasting off the highway in 4th gear at 2000 RPM.

I don't have my heart set on this, just curious if it would work. All part of learning :doh2:

What about the rolling idle parameters. Mine are currently disabled as stock and I haven't found any stock tune files that use rolling idle.

Won't work as when you get off the throttle in gear it will pull air as it sees the high rpm error

Thats what I thought. Thanks! I guess it would only work if I threw it in neutral every time I got off the gas.

It works..... Do it.

You just have to make the tables work out the right way. It works flawlessly and no need for throttle cracker.

How do you have your tables setup? Will throttle follower still work?
