how do i clear codes with the v2??

I plug it in to my obd2 and I can read dtcs but when I go to clear them it will say they are cleared but when I restart the truck nothing cleared??? Am I doing something wrong??? Also v2 doesn't add a description of what the code is??

I've tried both running and off.... maybe I'm doing something wrong but all I'm doing is plugging the v2 into my obd2 port...no laptop..when I clear it will say dtcs cleared but it stays there. The code is p2579 I guess my turbo speed performance??

ok so what ive figured out is i CAN clear codes BUT only with my laptop hooked up.... is there any way of getting just the V2 hand held to clear codes alone without the use of my laptop? i mean why else are there options in the handheld for that?

You should be able to clear with only the V2, I have used it as a generic code reader many times without a laptop connected.
