Hey guys,
Got two guys with 09 models looking to get tuned, last and only 09 wouldn't ever take a tune..... That being said, is there any totally successful OS that I can look for? I believe the OS can't be swapped because certain OS trucks just won't take a tune properly at all right? So when I pull the stock file it will either have a useable OS or it won't?

Thanks!

I have used, 809, 807, and 602 OS's on an '09 without issues. The 809 would be my first choice.

Thanks Mike, I know last year I tried to flash an 09 with the 11720809 OS and it never would take a tune successfully, so I'm guessing they got that bug worked out since then. These are the first two 09's I've had in since then so just wanted to make sure. Thanks again!

If they have the anti-tuning bootloader then you still will not be able to tune them. That part has not changed

Any way to verify boot loader prior to flashing? Thanks!

I see now where it says "do not flash" in V8

read out the stock tune and open it in V8, the bootloader number will be on the main page. the one ending in 602 is the anti-tuning one I believe.

I have had problems with the 601 bootloader - cannot directly flash over it at this point with EFILive.

Yeah the one I had issues with last fall appears to be a 601 boot as well

read thread in cant flash 07. installing h&s or smarty scrambles boot loader. return back to stock & you are able to flash your tuned file in

I can confirm that h&s and smarty will change the bootloader so that it can be flashed with efi.
