E40 to E67 conversion

I just bought an 06 Saab 9-7x with the 5.3l LH6:banana:
After spending a lot of time to find an 07+ in Europe without any success(really wanted an 07+ because of the E67) I decided to take an 06 and convert to an E67.
So far I have identified the following work I need to do:
- switch to electric fans (not sure if PWM viscous fan is supported by the E67)
- add current sensor to batt. cable for alternator control
- rewire harness to E67 Connectors (need new terminals, too)
- get Lingenfelter conversion box 24x>>58x TRG-002-R 24X to 58X Trigger Conversion Module (P/N L460125206
OR change mechanically
- get E67 out of 07+

Should I get an 07-08 E67 or preferably an 09 E67? Will the current 2006 T42 work or do I need
a matching T42 or just the programming of a matching year?
If I consider to switch to an 6L80E in the future, which option is best?

Use an 07 or 08 OS, if you run an 07 ECM OS you can run an 06 GTO OS and keep the converter locked under 0% TPS. However the 08 OS feels more refined when driving. Doesnt matter for a 6L80E swap in the future.

07s use the same PWM fan as 02-06 trucks, do efans anyway though (you'll need to use a patched OS as EFILive doesnt have all of the parameters to do the efans conversion, I can point you in the right direction).

I wouldnt hassle with the alternator control, it's a royal PITA on my 08. Id ignore it, then if a code pops up just delete it.

Why do you want to use an E67 vs E40? Yes it's a faster ECM, but you do have a real VE table with the E40. There are definite pros/cons to both.

Just got feedback from Lingenfelter, the module I was planning to use is not abailable, yet with
no fixed production date.
So I guess I will stick to the E40 for a while...and then maybe switch to an L92 or similar with the E67 and
6L80E.

Does the E40 also require a patch or could I use a GTO tune?

Interesting, Ive heard from others that you CAN buy that module, but LPE will only sell it as a pre-release/beta module (read: no warranty).

There's really no reason to change to an E67, bringing a lot of work that isnt required. The E40 can do most everything the E67 can except VVT.

You can just use a GTO TCM OS with the 06 9-7X/TB ECM OS.
