Hi all,

I need some guidance on EFI Live / EFI tuning.

What I've got here is a 2001 S10 truck that now has an 01 LS1 from a corvette under the hood. From advise we got, whether right or wrong, was to swap in a 1220041 computer and we converted to an 85mm MAF, basically we were told this engine has a bit of a cam in it, but that was it for mods.

We bought a wire harness, and had the computer flashed... knowing that the vague cam specs would need some tweaking, and we were ok with that.

The problem is that the engine runs very poorly, backfiring out the exhaust pretty hard.

Getting ZERO help from the company that flashed it so, I brought out an EFI Live cable we had bought years ago, and started checking out where we are at. Lots of unknowns with this deal.

I updated the EFI live software to the latest version as of today, and my cable is Flashscan FSP V1.2 with firmware 1.2.17. I could not find out if there is an update for the firmware.

Looking at the current flash on the computer, it says:
Operating system 12208322
Calibration ID 12212431

INjectors are marked 24508208
The fuel pressure at the rail is 59 PSI.

I do have a cold start log, and a warm idle log... not sure if I had the correct pids selected but here they are.

If I could get a push in the right direction, that would be swell.

Hi, I'm not sure the LS1 motor ever used the 12208322 OS, I thought it was just used on the trucks. You can find a stock LS1 corvette tune from here:
http://www.tunefiledepot.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=3&Manufacturer=3&VehicleType=P&Stock=Y

Since you don't know what was done to the motor, you can run a stock tune and run it without the MAF and start from there. You should be able to switch to a different OS on the 12200411 PCM.

If you post your tune file, I'm sure someonee can look at that too.

Thanks for the info! I will double check, but there was something about the engine having a wireless throttle body, and the truck having cable operated, so we had to change the PCM to accomodate the cable pull throttle body. I do have the original ECM that came with the engine, but I don't have a benchtop harness to grab the tune off of it.

Perhaps the 12208322 Operating system is there because of the throttle body difference.

One other thing I did not mention was that it sets a 0300 missfire code... I am actually surprised it does not set more based on how poorly it runs.

Here is the .tun file I pulled off of the current PCM in the car,

thanks again all!
