Pretune ECM (LB7)

I've got a buddy with an LB7 that wants some tunes I am running on my truck. I've got a bench harness and a spare ECM. I found the TIS website for figuring out what O.S he is running.

Heres my question his trucks an 01 my tunes are from an 02 O.S are the same but the VIN number in the calibration window are different. How to I change that? Also one guy said disable the VATS so he doesn't have to do the relearn? Any pro's or con's to doing that?

Any other tips so this thing works perfect when he gets it is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

For an 01 truck the best thing you can do is flash the ECM to an 02 OS. The 01 OS has alot of quirks to it to say the least.

Okay so even tho his trucks an 01 I have my stock 02 OS that won't be a problem? The OS I found was actually from an 01 so I don't want to use that if its gonna be a problem. How do I go about changing the VIN #?
