Wow, the no win no fee lawyers should have a field day with this one.
They really should have thought about this and not allowed plugged DPF limp mode on EMS vehicles, EVER!, on the other hand the service departments for these vehicles should be well aware of DPF regen issues and they should perhaps consider doing routine manual regens so there is no chance it would happen out in the field.

The article said they have people who do nothing but monitor for problems like this and keep up with the regens, but this particuliar ambulance gave the warning and instantly went to alarm and shut down which is not supposed to happen. Personally I would rather have a diesel truck that had 300HP with none of this DEF crap then the 400 HP trucks we have now with it. It would be interesting to see what they could do with a stock truck by removing all of the emissions BS, and then see how much power it could make while still meeting emissions. Then again it wasn't that long ago that gas engines were choked out by emission controls, and look at them now.
