New low cost v2 q

hi i have Q
i have heard of a new low cost $500 V2 unit that loges only ?
the question is
a friend has an AUTO CAL at the moment , and needs to log AFR for his S/C upgrade , does he need to retain his auto cal TO FLASH tune upgrades in ??
or can this be done with new low cost log only v2
seems a bit pointless if you need both

You can already buy a Scan-Only V2, it's been available since the V2 was first introduced in 2007. Buy a tuning license (GM or Dodge) if you want to start tuning (read he'd need to keep his AutoCal).
