Hi, Im new here and a bit confused about all the different products. Im looking for a scanner to read the fault codes from my Jeep Cherokee 1996. Will the EFILive Scan Tool allow me to do that?

No...

if it's OBD-II then Chrysler uses ISO 9141-2 serial protocol, if it's OBD-I then it uses proprietary protocol.

EFILive uses SAE J1850 VPW.

Thanks for the information, I believe its a OBD-II, ..so none of the EFILive scanners will work with this?

No, EFILive's V7.5/V8 software and V1/V2 do not have the ability to communicate with that protocol. Just because something is OBDII doesnt mean that everything can communicate with it (unfortunately, that's why CAN was made the standard in 2006-the protocols are the same across all manufactures [light trucks/cars only]).

If you're just looking for something to read and clear the fault codes on your Jeep, Id buy a cheap Bluetooth OBDII adapter off eBay for $10-12 and use the free version of Torque (iOS/Android). Can read/clear codes on any OBDII vehicle with it. I have one and it works fine, good for my dad's old Audi.
