I changed from a 2001 O.S. to the 2002 model 15186006 O.S. and now I cant get my insight cts to work, when it powers up it tells me that a pid is not supported then it shuts down. I dont know where I went wrong, I did load a efilive tune from off of dieselplace.com in the tune library. Maybe that has something to do with it, or is it possible that I didnt do a entire reflash and thats causing it? I really want to stay with the 6006 cal and not go back to the 2001 O.S. because I had rail pressure faults with the original cal. I also want my cts to work as well, is there any reason why my 2001 with the 2002 cal would cause the cts to stop working? Im new to efi live so im trying to learn all I can, thanks

It's a common issue, so you might want to try your EFI Live reseller for info on how to get it working.

The problem is with EDGE, they don't have it as a supported OS with a 2001 VIN.

You can try changing your VIN# to a 2002 VIN and that may throw a security light on the dash maybe not.

There is a 2002 OS that will work, but its not the 15186006

Ok, would you recommend going back to a 2001 O.S. or a different 2002 O.S.?

Try the 4441 02 OS. It is still a stable late model OS, but I believe it is pretty close to the 01 OS as far as tables go. And if you go back to an 01 OS be prepared for your change engine oil message to be stuck on all the time.

For being a common issue I have had hell trying to figure this out, I did a full flash of the 4441 O.S. tonight and my cts is giving the same error. Still wont display anything, I want to get tuning done but I wont do it until it works with my cts. Any more thoughts or ideas? I prefer to not have to see my oil change message on all the time.

Go to autotrader.com and find an 02 truck similar to yours. Take that VIN number and go in with EFILIVE and change the VIN number to the 02 and see if the CTS will work then.

Ok I will try that tonight. I do have a question though. If I use a 02 O.S. that is setup with egr on my truck that never came with egr will it cause problems?

Just make sure to shut it off in the tables. Keep in mind that all 02+ OS have the EGR tables in them and they look enabled, but when you check the DTC's you will see the EGR ones are shut off.

I changed the vin to an 02 vin number then I did a full flash on the pcm. I went back and looked at the o.s. with my V2 and it still shows my vin number and the cts still wont work. This crap is irritating, why cant edge just update there side so it will work. About ready to unload it for a different setup.

Open the V7.5 tuning tool and connect the V2 and cable to the truck, go up to the flash tab at the top and select PCM security, when it opens select the VIN/BCC tab and go through and change the VIN number. The VIN is stored in a separate spot in the ECM and has to be upgraded separately of the tune.

It is a shame that EDGE won't address the issue.
