My V2 wont recognize Gen4 E38 ECMs, or T43/T42 TCMs, which is all I've tried so far on the newer vehicles, but the 99-06 GenIII works just fine! It just started this the other day! It wont even read DTC's, on the BBX or on the laptop. It powers up when I plug it into the OBD2 port, but when I try anything it just gives me the error. I've tuned alot of them in the past, I even tried updating the software, firmware, bootblock, but still nothing! I just get an "ERROR $0280" "Vehicle not connected"??? Any ideas what this could possibly be???

What V7/V8 software builds do you have installed (do Help-About to find this)...?

Same thing, do not update, but rather download and manually install.

What V2 bootblock/firmware versions do your have (navigate the V2 LCD menu to find this)...?

Do not update the bootblock/firmware, but rather manually flash them in.

Do you have this: Update-June-06-2013 (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?22736-Update-June-06-2013)

Did you do this: Setting-up-a-FSV2-from-scratch (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?20699-Setting-up-a-FSV2-from-scratch)

I did just download and install the june 06 build but I did not update the firmware that way I'll try it when I get home. Its weird tho, I hadn't updated my software in a long time but it only started to not recognize the gen4 stuff here a couple weeks ago... its like something went bad in the bbx
