Help guide me through tuning an LS3 MAF

First off, before I get crap for asking for help, I have a really hard time soaking in information through reading. I also have a hard time with terminology I am not familiar with. I can read the tutorials, over and over, and still wont understand it. BUT, if someone takes the time to show me how it's done, I catch on quick. This is my first time tuning an LS3.

Can someone help me create a map in the scan tool (step by step), that I can log and correct the MAF table with?

I'm going to start with this, and then attempt the auto VVE tuning.

in tunetool: goto MAF table, click in blank tile in upper left corner (between the row and column axis's), do rightclick->Copy-with-labels;


in scantool: goto Maps tab, select a letter tab (say A), click on the Edit map properties button (hover the cursor over each button in the maps toolbar until you find it)...
then:
- on each of the Row and Col tabs: click Paste Labels,
- on the Data tab: checkmark Show Names and select your wideband BEN pid,
- on each of Data, Row, Col tabs: checkmark Show Units;
- on Cells tab checkmark Constrain Cell Size and set Maximum Width to 32 (say);
- click Save As and give the map a filename (e.g. MAF-wideband-correction-E38),
- click Ok to exit the map properties box.

FWIW, depending on the OS, you may have two separate MAF tables (I'm not sure if the US based tunes had this). I built two new MAPs, one for the low table and the other for the high. However, given sufficient log data, you can cherry pick sections for correcting the MAF and blend the rest in.

Also, when tuning the E38, if using "road logged data" have at least 30min of data per log with the car up to temp.

...If you have your LC-1 connected to your V2 using serial comms (and can read the wb pids successfully), then yes, correct.

Thanks Joe, the car should be running tomorrow and I can perform a MAF tune on it. I'll be posting should I have any questions and I'll post the results.
