$0311 on 97 S-10

Hey guys,
Got a customer with a 97 S-10 truck. We're trying to use his Autocal to upload the tune file so we can work with it. I'm handling this remotely for him.

Keep getting error $0311 mode not supported, we've updated software a few days ago, re-formatted device etc.... no luck yet.

Any ideas? Thanks!

The 1996 & 1997 Black Box Vortec PCMs are not supported by EFILive (or HPT).

You need use TunerCat or Jet DST to modify that controller.

You did not say if you have a 4.3 or 2.2 truck, or planning a lsx V8 swap I will assume 4.3 ? Common way to get around your problem is to update your ecm to a 0411 ecm, which can be found on just about any 2001-2002 GM V6 vortec engine or ls1 V8/truck ecms vehicles made. A quick internet search will get you going in the right direction. I would guess since you are here you are not interested in a jet dst?.Since you have autocal. You can pm a member lextech for a simple to follow guide(pinout) on how to convert a 97 4.3 truck to a 0411 ecm. If it is a 2.2 ecm it can still be done just not as common as the 4.3.
