I've got a weird symptom that has me pulling my hair out! The engine is a 5.3L with a manual transmission behind it. It's in a Jeep with A/C. The engine runs flawlessly, runs cool...around 195-205. Once the engine is up to temp and parked...it will heat soak. Once the engine reaches 217 degrees and you start it, it will idle up and instantly go into reduced power mode. I thought it had something do do with "Fan power vs ECT" but after playing with it in every direction, it still goes in PR at 217. The radiator only has a single fan on it. Am I missing something with the fan settings? What else would cause PR mode at exactly 217??? Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated!
