You have to find a 12212156 file... for example the 2002 Camaro file located at www.tunefiledepot.com (http://www.tunefiledepot.com) ----> i.e. this one: 12212156.tun (http://www.tunefiledepot.com/calibrations/stock/Chevrolet/2002%20Chevrolet%20Camaro%20Coupe%20Manual%20LS1%2 05.7%20Litre%20(12212156).tun)

Have you read the COS tutorial (you can open it from the tunetool)? It tells you which is the correct COS for you base, plus a heap of other pertinent info on the upgrade. Definitely worth reading if you haven't.

For 12212156 you need 02020005.

thanks joecar , darcy i have read the tutorial. was a little confused , it only shows cos and 2-3 bar tutorial. i am looking to get cos5 for nos controls, i also read on the forumn that i need to first install 12212156 to get to the cos5 is this correct or do i just follow the 2-3 bar tutorial?

Start from either of these OS's (with the same transmission as yours):
- 12225074 Australian Holden -> upgrades to COS5 01290005
- 12212156 Camaro/Firebird -> upgrades to COS5 02020005

And then COS5 is included in the Custom folder of your EFILive V7 software install.

Yes, just follow the tutorial as if you're doing COS3.

Here are addiional notes specific to COS5: COS5.txt (http://forum.efilive.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=10875&d=1305643237)

Be sure to install the latest V7 build version from here: Update-Aug-24-2013 (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?23108-Update-Aug-24-2013)

when i try to cal flash it says cal not compatble?

darcy
August 28th, 2013, 08:44 AM
No, You can't flash the cal from your os into another os.

Full flash the COS, then cal flash the 12212156 over it to populate all the calibration data, then follow the tutorial/notes on populating the remaining COS tables that will still be blank.

No it wont work on a Vette with that OS as there is not a COS5 for it. You are limited to COS1, 2, or 3 with a Vette and that original OS.

However, if you use a Vette 12212156 OS, then COS5 will work.

(Edited after Joe's subsequent posts for clarification.)

Nope.

But there exists a 2002 Corvette 12212156 (with Manual trans)... I'm just not sure if it will or not.

You would do either of these:

A.
- copy your tables to the 2002 Corvette 12212156 file;
- full flash the 12212156 file into your PCM and see if it runs <-- if it doesn't then you have a problem;
- full flash 02020005 into your PCM;
- cal flash from the edited 12212156 file;
- read it back and save/edit it;

B.
- full flash 02020005;
- cal flash from the stock 2002 Corvette 12212156 file;
- read it back and save/edit it;
- copy your tables into the 02020005 file;
- cal flash from the edited 02020005 file;

With Corvettes you will need to make sure none of the other modules are going to talk on the bus.

how do i copy tables?

joecar
August 28th, 2013, 01:31 PM
Open two instances of the tunetool (one on old file, one on new file), then in old file copy a whole table (in upper left blank tile do rightclick->copy-with-labels) and in new file paste into the same table (in upper left blank tile di rightclick->paste-with-labels)... do this for each table that is different.

"with labels" -> this aligns the axes correctly when you copy/paste.

copied tables allll of them one by one, car runs idles accells did not drive but sounds the same . i do have an air bag lt on need to check codes. can i proceed to do the cos5 OS or do i need to be shure the car drives right first. any faster way to copy and paste these tables or a better way . thanks to all who have helped!

joecar

I would just make sure it drives ok first.

If the OS id's are different then there is no fast copy/paste (each table has to be copied individually).

joecar thanks soo much, it does run drive very similar to before . It is a little smoother at idle , 236-242 617.622-114 cam still has surges @1600-1800, i turned off tps ve ,not ready to get into that yet. seems a little lite on power at 5-6500, not shure whats going on there. car does have an air bag lt on 0106,1001. what do think i should do next to get it near 100%

P0106: get this fixed... for example see 2001 Corvette DTC P0106 (http://www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic10375.php)

Are you running with a MAF...? If so then you will have to get the MAF table corrected using a wideband.

Then (regardless of MAF or no MAF), you will have to the VE table corrected (also using a wideband).

yes i am still running the maf but plan to later go mafless, i will work on getting this fixed.

can i correct the maf table with wb , while i still have this code or do i have to fix 0106 first ? just changed OS and never had this code till swapped OS5 into car , is the stock map ok for this OS5 or do i need a 2 or 3 bar sensor? watching sensor on pid looks ok

joecar

Fix P0106 first.

What MAP sensor do you have...?

What OS did you change from and to...?

cb350rx7
September 10th, 2013, 12:58 PM
os was 12593358 2001 corvette to 122212156 2002 corvette to 02020005 =os5 map sensor stock not shure of the part number , dont think its ever been changed.

In the engine diagnostics segment of the tunefile, you may have to edit the MAF and MAP sanity tables.

Your cam (236/242 114) has 11 degrees overlap, so MAP is significantly different than stock at low rpm.

so i think that when i flashed the 12221256 in it may have the wrong vin is that poss and the sdm is seeing this ? I do have the correct vin in there now with cos 5, but still see the 1001 code. any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

joecar
September 11th, 2013, 10:39 AM
You can just write the correct VIN using the V7 scantool... yes the SDM most likely wants to see the same VIN as itself.
