I apologize in advance for my ignorance as I am in the process of learning efilive. I have done a LOT of reading and still have a few questions.
Ill tell you what I've got and then what my questions are to make it simple
1999 lq4
Aluminum heads
Bigger cam
Heavier valve springs
4l80e
Swapped engine/trans into 67 chev.
I am running v7.5 everything is updated properly.
I have tried following the veautotune tutorial and here is my issue. When I follow through the tutorial I get all the way to the point where I read my current tune and try to copy it. I tried multiple times and it tells me the pcm is locked. The truck came out of a stock 2wd 2500 and was never connected to a tuner. Why does it say the pcm is locked? I've read that picking up an 01 pcm is better to tune with as it has more parameters. Would I be better off picking up an 01 pcm and putting a tune on it from tunefiledepot? I saw one on there from a 2000 lq4. Then complete the tune and try to run my truck and adjust what I need to after that to compensate for my cam? Thank you for any info.
