looking for info to see if efi live would help me

i am doing a motor swop of a 8.1/alliosn 5 speed

i do not have a vin of the truck the 8.1 or the allison came from and they are being installed in a truck that is older non computer

i have moved gm 350s/TH400 all day long but the ECM/TCM stuff is new to me


with efi live seems to all so want vins for each motor / trans you want to work with

how do i go about working with a system like this and flash/working with a ecm and finding stock files to get this setup working and then adding a vin from a older car or truck

O and what efi live setup do i get as i see they have many types of units here

Are the ECM and TCM from the same vehicle...?

If so then they already have matched VIN's.

no motor came with ecm but worng year and setup 01 02

allison did not come with tcm allison is a 2004

getting the ecm and tcm off a 2004 proxy vin that is the same setup

upgrading the 8.1 to a 04
