What I'm trying to do is log fuel pressure from the egr pins. I have read the tutorial and the install is complete. What I can't seem to figure out is the calc fp pid. I did what it said to do in notepad but I can't seem to find that new saved pid under any of the pids. Has anyone had the issue before or am I'm just lost lol. Thanks for any help, Eric.

I'm also having issues logging with it. It will show live feed with the flash scan but not on my laptop. I hit the connect button it says connected hit the monitor button and it pauses I then hit pause and it starts to record but nothing moves on the dashboard or the graphs other then frames. I've read all the tutorials and have been on this site for days reading. I like the efi live program a lot but man it's a lot harder then hp. At this point I'm just trying to gather is much knowledge as possible but it seems like I'm struggling with the "basic stuff". All software and firmware are the most recent. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks Eric.

Hit the Red button to record live data, rather than the yellow monitor button, at the bottom of the scan tool.
If you added the calc.pid correctly, it should appear under the Fuel section as CALC.FP
Post a copy of your calc_pids.txt file and someone can take a look.

+1 click the red Record button.
(the yellow monitor button does not motivate the charts/gauges).
Post a link to the thread you are following.
+1 post your calc_pids.txt file.
Note that the calc_pids.txt file resides in the folder: My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\User Configuration.
On the PIDs tab, click on the heading of the right most column (this alphabetically sorts the pids by this column), you can now scroll down to the pid CALC.FP.
In your tune, you may possibly have to enable EGR (see B1301).

I tried just hitting the record button at the bottom, it does the same thing. None of the gauges work or the graphs the only thing is the frames move. Also most of my pids, just basic ones like tps, rpm, speed, wont work they have a red slash through them. There are lots of other fitures not working like bidirectional stuff. The weird part is the tunning part works, also if I view data logging in the flachscan I can see the readings. I can get dtc codes in the flashscan but not on my computer im lost. I will try to post a pic of the fp pid. Tjanks for your help.

From the scantool are you selecting the correct PCM (File->Select Controller)...?

Oh and that was the ticket, for getting my scan to work I had it selected as flashscan controller only. I was under the impression it did a auto detect. All is good now for that part lol. Next will be the tune  Im gonna try to take a efi class in Jan if I have time off from work then Ill get a dyno, if I can figure this part out. Ive read a ton got the dvds and books but im more of a hands on guy. Big learning curve. Thanks for your help, Eric

The calc_pids file that you posted is blank.
I use the calc_pids file provided in the Calc.VET thread, with a couple of additional calc pids added - I have attached a copy, with the EGR calcs added to this post. Replace the current one in your User Configuration folder with this one and see how you go.

16247 Here is the pid I made. Maybe im missing a step I create it in note pad and save it. After that should it automatically appear in the pids? The reason I think I missed a step is because I saved the one you gave me under user config, calc pids and there not showing up under my pids either?

Are you saving each file over the top of your original calc_pids.txt file? There can be only one calc_pids.txt file
You also need to make sure there are 2 blank lines at the end of the file.

And the filename has to be "calc_pids.txt".
In the Scantool, go Edit->Properties->Folders and check what it says for User Configuration.

Thanks again, that was the ticket. I never saved over the org cal_pid file so I had a few of them. I didn't realize you just kept all the files on one sheet. I didn't want to save over the template as I thought you needed I to make new ones. Now I get it kind of lol. I will figure it out some year. I don't want to be a tuner just want to be able to assist the big dogs like you guys while my car is being tuned. I would like to have a understanding so I can make changes like at the track. Again thanks and im sure you will see 1000 more questions from me.
