no power to flashscan

i was driving along my virtual dash on my lap top everthing was fine
then it said unable to connect and now i have no lights on my black box
also my dash lights did a quick blink i dont know what happened but i can not connect:help2:

it was a fuse same one as cig lighter

this has happened to me before just not with efilive, seems kinda common this fuse that blows.

You guys ROCK !! That was my problem as well in my '02 Silverado.. But why in the world does the cigarette lighter have anything to do with connectivity issues when its not even used on the Efilive or my laptop ?

the port you connect the flashscan to uses the same fuse as the cig lighter
i was scanning and smoking at the same time hence blew my fuze

Wouldn't it be safe to upgrade this fuse by 2.5 to 5 amps?
I've had it blow on me once ...

You know the funny thing is the SAE specifications for the J1962 OBDII 12V supply says that the connector must be capable of supplying 4 amps.

SAE J1962 Section 6.3.11

Vehicle connector terminal 16 is designated Unswitched Vehicle Battery Positive and must be implemented in the connector. This terminal must be connected directly (i.e., unswitched) to the DC positive of the vehicle's battery. This connection does not preclude the use of a fuse or other circuit protection elements. This circuit may be grouped with other similar circuits. This terminal must be able to supply a minimum of 4.0 A.
