03 LB7 not recognizing license.

I tuned this truck almost a year ago, he brought it back to install larger injectors, once installed i went to retune for them and its wanting me to license it again. vin number came up as a bunch of question marks and the serial number is no longer the same. any ideas of what could of happened or what i need to do?

Someone change the ecm without you knowing?

The customer said it hasnt been touched that he knows of since i flashed it the first time. Hes been over seas tho so im almost wondering if somebody hasnt tried putting a different programmer on it or something.
