Used Autocal buying new license question

I know little about about efi-live and need clarification.. I bought a used unlocked autocal and want to know the process of buying a new license? I know the serial but where do I find the autocal authority code? Do I need to open the efi-live program? Once I buy the license what do I do send the autocal to my desired tuner to load tunes? Any help would be appreciated thanks

The autocal must be locked to a V2 if you want to tune with it. You can set it up for logging as a stand alone unit though. If you intend to use the services of a separate tuner, you will need to send the autocal to him so he can link it to his V2. He can then send it back to you and also send updated tune files.

While you don't "need" to load the EFILive software, it will enable you to update the firmware and check your log files.
